Tom is my friend who is also a oversea student. I have been knowing he since I started my undergraduate education. Tom has a dream of studying abroad since he was a child. It was about 10 years a when he was planning to study aboard after graduating from high school. At that time, there’s this growing tendency among high school graduates to embark on a study abroad program. But when he told his parents that he wanted to study aboard his parents were really worried about he and told he that being in a new place myself could be overwhelming sometimes. When he listened to his mother’s advice, he temporarily gave up ing abroad.

 

I told him when he was a college student, “you should believe study aboard is a od opportunity for you to see the world and to experience different styles education. Besides, you can improve your language skills, And you are a college student now. You have the ability to overcome any difficulties.” Later he tried to apply for a foreign school without a doubt, he successfully went to the Australia. And he received a full scholarship.

 

I am proud of what he has managed to pull off. As for how I felt about it, first, I am delighted that my advice worked on him and I managed to make him reach his potential. Second, his outstanding results have made me proud and I feel thrilled that I could be of his friend.
