这是我们常从考生口中听到的关于雅思阅读的反馈,但后考的学员,却往往是靠阅读……
这中间一定有猫腻!!
考满分的同学就有足够的时间和词汇量读懂全篇文章吗?显然不是,只是他们懂得如何*提取有效信息,从而节省时间,避免大部分生词。要做到这一点,除了学会*定位以外,当然就是定到位以后怎么读懂这句话。找句子主干是我们老生常谈的一个问题,可是一旦说到主语,谓语,宾语这些语法术语学生就开始头晕。
今天我们用一种较通俗的方式来解决这一问题,面对一个长难句,一眼看不到句点的那种先去掉这三个部分:
介词短语 :in、at、with、for*;*;*;*;*;*;
从句 :信号词:句中疑问词+that
插入语 :句中独立出来的部分,逗号,破折号,括号是信号
举个栗子,找找主干:
However,the major problems of the travel and tourism industry that have hidden,or obscured, its economic impact are the diversity and fragmentation of the industry itself.(C10T3P1)
如果按传统的方法找谓语动词,have hidden可能是你的首选;“那主语是什么”“its economic impact吧,那are才是谓语”;从此陷入沉思*;*;*;
重新梳理一下:
However,the major problems of the travel and tourism industry (that have hidden,or obscured, its economic impact) are the diversity and fragmentation of the industry itself.
→However,the major problems are the diversity and fragmentation.
瞬间清爽了许多!
PS:值得注意的是从句也是完整的句子,即一定要包含谓语动词!
再来个栗子:
The second set of more specific changes that have led to the present concern about the distribution of health-care resources stems from the dramatic rise in health costs in most OECD countries, accompanied by large-scale demographic and social changes which have meant, to take one example, that elderly people are now major (and relatively very expensive) consumers of health-care resources.(C4T4P3)
这是一个长到令人窒息的句子,而且出题啦!!
在课堂上做过无数次实验,找出来的谓语动词五花八门:led to, accompanied, changes,rise等等,可能是动词的词全找出来了唯独真正的谓语动词不认识(很伤心~)

PS:显然这里accompanied不属于主干,因为前面已经是一个完整的句子,所以它跟去掉的介词短语,插入语等一样属于修饰部分,一个动词作修饰成分叫非谓语动词。
后拎出主干:
→The second set of more specific changes stems from the dramatic rise.
非谓语动词是一个高级的存在,尤其在写作中,能适当地运用非谓语动词(或上述其他修饰成分),“逼格”立马*。而通过精简句子成分,提炼主干结构*捕捉其中心意思是我们在阅读过程中必不可少的一项技能。
