Study has always been the first priority of students and their parents as it is considered the stepping stone to a promising future. When it comes to which is a better way for young children to study, some people favor learning in small groups over studying individually, while others support the idea of studying alone. In order to prepare for the future, it is a wise move to require young children to work in small groups.
For one thing, studying in groups enables children to build team work spirit. Team work is an essential in modern society, especially in the working world, due to the simple fact it is almost impossible for people to finish projects on their own. Thus, it is advisable to prepare young child for such awareness by encouraging them to work as small groups, where they could enhance their ability to give or take orders and to cooperate with others.
For another, working in groups allows children to improve themselves. Working in small groups enables young children to have a better understanding of their classmates, making them know of the advantages of others and disadvantages of themselves, not only in studies but also in daily life. Peer pressure provides young children with an impetus to overcome their downside, modify their behaviors and study hard to keep pace with others.
Granted, studying alone is also conducive to children by enhancing their productivity, for they will not be disturbed by others when studying. Besides, learning on their own also encourages young children to think independently because there are no other people to discuss. However, working alone is not the way the world works, for the abilities and intelligence of people are always limited and people always need to work with others to succeed. Therefore, it is a better choice to require young children to study as groups.
